ZONARE Highlights New Software, Hardware and Transducer Technology for Its Next Generation Premium Convertible Ultrasound™ Platform at AIUM

SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwire - March 12, 2008) - AIUM Booth #313 -- ZONARE Medical Systems, Inc. will showcase upgrades including new software, hardware and transducer technology for its z.one ultra system -- the company's next generation premium Convertible Ultrasound™ platform -- here at the 2008 American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) annual conference, March 12-15, 2008.

"The mobility and flexibility of the z.one system highlight significant improvements in the way diagnostic care is administered today," said Bruce Silver, M.D., chairman of Radiology at Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago. "Specifically, the portability of the system is extremely important because it allows us to take the small unit up to the intensive care unit to do procedures, and then back down to review at a larger monitor.

New Software, Hardware and Transducer Technology

The company will highlight the following new software, hardware and transducer technology at the 2008 AIUM annual conference:

--  Comprehensive obstetrical calculations package, which includes Nuchal
    Translucency (NT) and nasal bone length measurements, cerebella diameter,
    humeral, radius, ulna and fetal fibula measurements.
--  An optional battery pack, which enables cordless scanning for up to
    three hours with no need to power down or reboot between patients.
--  Multi-Transducer Port (MTP) so clinicians can easily choose between
    three transducers that are all connected simultaneously to the cart-based
    system.
--  New C6-2 curved array transducer for abdominal, abdominal vascular,
    obstetrics, fetal heart and gynecologic imaging. The transducer also
    provides excellent imaging for needle guided procedures and technically
    difficult-to-image patients. The C6-2 offers 11 frequencies including two
    frequencies each for 2D, Compound Harmonic, Color Doppler and PW Doppler,
    plus three for Tissue Harmonics.
--  New high frequency, 14-5 MHz linear array transducer* featuring a wide
    field of view as a work-in-progress (WIP). The L14-5 transducer has an
    aperture of 55 mm, and offers virtual apex capability. The transducer has
    10 frequencies including three fundamental, one tissue harmonic, two
    compound imaging and two each for color Doppler and PW Doppler modes. The
    L14-5 is especially useful for imaging breasts, small parts and superficial
    anatomy.
--  New C9-3 curved array transducer* (WIP), which is designed for first
    trimester obstetrical and pediatric imaging. The C9-3 will include multiple
    frequencies in both fundamental and tissue harmonic imaging. In addition,
    the clinician can take advantage of automated capabilities, such as Auto-
    Opt with ZST, and compound imaging modes.
