Zotec Strengthens Industry Commitment With Two Staff Members on National ACEP Committee

INDIANAPOLIS, IN--(Marketwired - September 29, 2014) - Zotec Partners, LLC (Zotec), a leading provider of billing and practice management services to hospital-based physicians, is pleased to announce that its on-staff physician Medical Director, Ronald Stunz, MD, FACEP has accepted an invitation for membership on the National American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) Reimbursement Committee. In addition to Stunz's membership on the Committee, Zotec's Chief Compliance Officer, Edward R. Gaines III, JD, CCP is also a member on the same National ACEP Reimbursement Committee, further demonstrating Zotec's commitment to the specialty of emergency medicine.

The purpose of the National ACEP Reimbursement Committee is to identify and analyze the governmental reimbursement environment as it pertains to emergency medicine and assist in positioning the College appropriately on issues of importance. Members concentrate on issues including, but not limited to, audit activity, bundling practices, private payer practices, balance billing and payment policies throughout the Medicare system, ensuring that it reports its research findings to appropriate organizations and agencies.

Dr. Stunz has a 25-year career as a practicing physician and currently serves as Medical Director with Zotec Partners. His service to the National ACEP organization has been and continues to be as a member of the Coding and Nomenclature Advisory Committee, including his co-chair position on the Pennsylvania ACEP (PaACEP) Emergency Medicine Practice and Medical Economics Committee. He represented the PaACEP chapter as a member of the National ACEP Council in 2011 and 2012. Dr. Stunz has served in a number of hospital administrative capacities, including Chairman of the Department of Medicine for the Bryn Mawr Hospital, and Chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine for Main Line Health. He is the co-chair of PaACEP's Reimbursement Committee; Chapter representative to the Novitas (formerly Highmark) Contractor Advisory Committee; member of the Government Affairs Committee, and co-organizer of the 2010 Chapter Reimbursement Conference. Dr. Stunz has been certified by the American Boards of Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine, and is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University and the Université de Reims, France.
