ANAHEIM, CA--(Marketwire - May 17, 2011) - ZyXEL Communications, a leading provider of secure broadband networking, Internet connectivity and routing products, announced today that its director of product marketing David Thompson will speak at the TIA Inside the Network conference in Dallas, TX, Thursday, May 19. TIA 2011: Inside the Network is a unique event focused on bringing together the telecommunications and information and communications technology (ICT) industries to confront the challenges of security, reliability and sustainability of the Network. Thompson will outline key guidelines to help service providers evaluate their IPv6 readiness, select a migration path and start the transition process without disrupting their existing business.

WHEN: Thursday, May 19 at 9:00am CT
WHERE: Hotel Gaylord Texan, Dallas, TX
SESSION TITLE: Making a Successful Transition to IPv6

The transition to IPv6, the next generation of Internet addressing and routing technology, has been in the works for over a decade. Recently, the explosive growth of Internet connected mobile devices, such as smartphones and tablet PCs, has accelerated the use of IPv4 addresses, making the transition imminent.

ZyXEL began developing its IPv6 compatible technology in 2003. In 2004, ZyXEL obtained its first IPv6 Ready Logo certificate and has continued to receive this certification across a wider range of product lines, while adding support for additional IPv6 features. ZyXEL also received the world's first IPv6 Ready Logo Phase II certification utilizing VDSL2 technology. These efforts have allowed ZyXEL to provide its customers with IPv6-ready products in advance for evaluations and field trials as they build their IPv6 networks. Thompson will discuss key items that need to be addressed when introducing IPv6 into an operator's infrastructure, including interoperability, testing, certification and more.
