ZZ Sports Blogger and Sports Kinesiologist Comments on Barkley/Obama Release

Prescribes Exercise Program to Help Obama Make Moves to the Right

HENDERSON, NV--(Marketwire - December 3, 2010) - A sports kinesiologist, Zig Ziegler, has a way for President Obama to prove NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley wrong about his "game." On Wednesday, Barkley knocked the President's basketball skills on Conan O'Brian's late night talker on TBS saying, "He's a one-handed basketball player." He also assured O'Brien that he could take on the president in a one-on-one match-up. "Oh yeah," he said. "I mean, I'm an old fat guy now, but I'd kick his ass."

Ziegler, a biomechanics expert who has helped more than two dozen NFL players overcome serious injuries to stay on the field -- NBA Hall of Fame center, Shaquille O'Neal, and oft injured Trailblazers' center Greg Oden and his Trailblazer teammates -- has reviewed some video footage of the President.

Ziegler's assessment?

"Obama is a little light in the behind, which is affecting his ability to go right," says Ziegler. Watching the footage, Ziegler finds that the President "shys away from penetrating, dribbling, and even passing when going to the right. A couple of factors may be contributing to the President's inability to perform to the right," says Ziegler.

Some of these factors include lower body muscle imbalances (weaknesses) or an injury that is still affecting him from earlier in his athletic career. He says that Obama has weakness in both hamstrings but is weaker in the left leg. He needs strengthening on the left leg, stretching on the right leg and upper back and posterior deltoid strengthening.

Ziegler also says that "President Obama may experience slight back pain and or discomfort in his lower back and neck due to the lower body muscle imbalances and weaknesses in his posterior deltoid (back of the shoulder), which is significantly weaker on his right side."

But Ziegler has a full presidential prescription that includes a series of targeted exercises to help Obama overcome these weakesses or imbalances and prove Charles Barkley wrong.

Mr. Ziegler has also advised 2008 Republican Presidential contender Mike Huckabee when he was training for the NYC Marathon. At that time, the former Arkansas Governor had been experiencing knee pain.
