Americans for Policy Reform Hosts Conference Call About California Marijuana Legalization for 2016

The California Marijuana Control, Legalization and Revenue Act Team Call for Public Input MCLR 2016 Version 2

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwired - Jul 22, 2015) - The group behind California's "Open Source" Marijuana Legalization initiative is hosting a conference call for public input today, July 22, 2015 (call-in details below). This will be the second of a series of public outreach calls to answer questions regarding the MCLR 2016 process. The call will provide valuable feedback in addition to what is provided by the California Attorney General's (AG) new public input process. The AG's public comment process for "The Marijuana Control, Legalization and Revenue Act of 2016 Version 2," (MCLR) will accept input until August 12th.

After the cutoff date for public input, proponents will then have five days to review all comments, make changes to the initiative, and submit a final draft. Attorney General Kamala Harris will then take approximately 30 more days to issue the Title & Summary and Fiscal Analysis that will kick-off the signature gathering phase of the process.

"Openness and transparency are what really sets MCLR apart," said John Lee, Director of Americans for Policy Reform (AFPR), a major backer of MCLR. "MCLR has always been dedicated to a true grass roots, open source, community based process. Please participate on the call and take advantage of the opportunity to contribute your own ideas."

During the call the MCLR team will take feedback and respond to public comments and concerns. Anyone who would like to participate on the call can submit questions to http://mclr.us/ask. They can also forward questions directly to john@afpr.us for inclusion in the conference call.

MCLR 2016 is planning a 3rd filing to address input from this call, results of actions at the State Legislature, details of the BRC report and additional public input.
