Arcadia Data Launches Industry's First Real-Time, Modern BI Platform for Cloud-Native, On-Premises and Hadoop-Native Deployments

Arcadia Enterprise 3.3 unifies cloud and on-premises; new streaming data visualization and intelligent acceleration deliver breakthrough performance and business analyst productivity

SAN MATEO, CA--(Marketwired - Dec 14, 2016) -  Arcadia Data, provider of the industry's first real-time modern business intelligence (BI) platform for big data, today announced the general availability of Arcadia Enterprise 3.3, which boasts major enhancements to the company's Hadoop and data-native converged visual analysis, data discovery and business intelligence platform. The new features -- including Arcadia Smart Acceleration™, advanced segmentation and cohort analytics, analytic extensions, and mobile and tablet support -- unify real-time insights from streaming data with historical data discovery in a single view and enhances productivity for business analysts seeking to apply meaningful insights from data at scale.

"MarketShare DecisionCloud provides an advanced, big data analytics platform for complete visibility into marketing effectiveness. Our clients are demanding more real-time and advanced analysis for understanding and improving the customer experience," said Satya Ramachandran, SVP Engineering, Neustar. "Arcadia Enterprise 3.3 gives us the ability to provide real-time data visualization and big data discovery in a single modern BI platform with advanced segmentation and Smart Acceleration to support thousands of users at petabyte scale."

Converging Real-time Insights From Streaming Data with Big Data Discovery
Arcadia Enterprise 3.3 facilitates real-time insights for applications in the IoT age, such as the connected car, manufacturing quality, cyber security, and data center monitoring. By 2020, Gartner predicts that more than half of major new business processes and systems will incorporate some element of the IoT. Analytics are essential to the success of IoT systems. They are arguably the main point of the IoT as they support the decision-making process in operations that are created in business transformation and digital business programs.1

By enabling access to next-gen data sources like Apache HBase, Apache Kudu, and now Apache Solr in the 3.3 release, Arcadia provides streaming data visualizations side by side with historical reports in integrated data applications. As a result, users can switch seamlessly between real-time and ad-hoc data discovery and reporting. Additionally, new cloud-native connections for Amazon S3 allow users to easily access and analyze data in AWS, in addition to existing support for Redshift.

Ultra-Fast Visualizations and Increased Analyst Productivity
Arcadia, known for simplifying the complexity of big data with drag-and-drop ease, is providing a number of new capabilities within Enterprise 3.3 to accelerate performance for thousands of concurrent users and allow business analysts to more easily and continuously explore, model and refine all their data. Thanks to new mobile and tablet support, users can now access Arcadia Data visuals and dashboards on the go. New significant capabilities of Arcadia Enterprise 3.3 include:

  • Arcadia Smart Acceleration™ - Enables users to tell the system what metrics and applications are most important to visualize and then accelerates them. This data-driven capability analyzes reports, recommends Analytical Views, and stores them on the Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) to make performance pre-tuned for faster visualization. As a result, deep insights from data discovery can now be shared concurrently across an entire organization (hundreds to thousands of concurrent users).
  • Micro-Segmentation Analytics - Accelerates the time to insight for fine-grained segment and behavioral analysis leveraging cohort analysis and high cardinality, set-based analysis. This solution is ideal for business analysts or data scientists within marketing organizations who seek to precisely understand consumer behavioral patterns and preferences, using micro-segmentation and targeting of relevant offers and improved customer experiences.
  • Visual Analytic Extensions - Enhances mapping capabilities utilizing Google Maps and MapBox for an interactive experience. Four mapping layer options give users the flexibility to choose which visualization best suits the story they want to tell, enabling users to quickly understand patterns in geographic distributions at scale and browse details down to individual locations.
  • Direct S3 Visualizations - Arcadia Enterprise 3.3 introduces native connectivity to Amazon S3 to enable direct S3 visualizations for cloud data. This allows customers to complement existing connectivity to SQL databases like Oracle, Teradata Aster, MySQL, Amazon Redshift, MongoDB, and Postgres.

"Arcadia's data-native architecture and unique on-cluster execution allows us to continually innovate and extend support for more data sources, analytic types and real-time capabilities," said Priyank Patel, co-founder and chief product officer at Arcadia Data. "Today's enhancements tackle high-definition big data analytics on a dramatically simplified and real-time modern BI platform, allowing us to better deliver organizations with deep insights from real-time analysis at scale."
