Digiflare Brings PBS to Windows 10 Phone and Tablet

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Feb. 22, 2016) - Digiflare Inc. is proud to announce its involvement in the launch of the PBS app for Windows 10 phone and tablet devices. The project represents another successful partnership between Digiflare, Microsoft, and PBS to bring the iconic public broadcaster's signature content to the latest Windows devices. Toronto-based Digiflare also built PBS Kids applications for Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1 in 2015.

Digiflare's design and engineering teams ensured that the new Windows 10 experience would showcase PBS content while incorporating the new and enhanced features of the Windows 10 OS. This included implementation of Cortana, Microsoft's voice-integrated personal assistant, as well as personalization components like the ability to add PBS-themed lock-screen images. Now Windows 10 mobile users have on-the-go access to classic PBS titles as well as new shows, including the much-anticipated historical series Mercy Street.

"We are very excited to bring PBS Video to the Windows 10 platform. This release is another example of the great teamwork that exists between PBS, Digiflare, and Microsoft." - Scott Nourse, VP of Product Development at PBS Digital
