Thomson Reuters Special Services and Terbium Labs Partner to Expand Data Intelligence Capacity for Corporate and Government Organizations

MCLEAN, VA and BALTIMORE, MD--(Marketwired - March 15, 2016) -  Thomson Reuters Special Services (TRSS), a business of Thomson Reuters, and Terbium Labs, the company behind the world's first fully private, fully automated Dark Web data intelligence system, today announced a collaboration to improve the analytical and data intelligence capabilities for TRSS corporate and government customers.

TRSS will now be able to leverage Terbium Labs' Matchlight data intelligence system as part of its customized intelligence solutions to protect and mitigate the threat of data theft. Matchlight offers a new and innovative approach to information security based on a large-scale, Dark Web search engine and a patented data fingerprinting technology. It is designed to constantly scan for stolen or sensitive client data without ever needing to see or store that data in the first place. With Matchlight, TRSS customers can automatically search for their most sensitive information without revealing it to anyone -- not even Terbium Labs. As a result, breach detection goes from days or months to just minutes.

"Theft of important data is becoming more and more common, and the key to mitigating the damage is to detect the theft as quickly and privately as possible," said Tim Murphy, president of TRSS. "Working with Terbium Labs and their Matchlight system, we are making the discovery and enforcement of critical data theft faster and more efficient, shifting the balance of power from perpetrator to the data's owner."

The relationship will further TRSS's ability to continually scan for stolen and other sensitive data in both the indexed and non-indexed portions of the Internet. If even a trace of an organization's data or files appear somewhere it doesn't belong, customers will be notified immediately so that they can identify the theft and quickly set a response and recovery plan in motion.

TRSS offers a host of solutions for corporate and government customers, including Threat Intelligence Portfolio, which provides early indicators of potential insider threat risks and harmful threats around events, facilities and individuals. These systems for detecting potential threats are for use by credentialed law enforcement and intelligence agencies.

"We are pleased to collaborate with Thomson Reuters Special Services to offer even greater security capabilities that will benefit our respective customers," said Danny Rogers, Co-founder and CEO of Terbium Labs.
