Zoo sauvage de Saint-Felicien Bringing New Up-Close Experiences to Visitors

Funding from Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions to allow site renovations and improved attractions for the greater enjoyment of zoo-goers of all ages, from near and far, visiting Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean


QUEBEC CITY, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - April 7, 2015) - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)

The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announces that Zoo sauvage de Saint-Félicien/Centre de conservation de la biodiversité boréale Inc. has been granted financial assistance to expand its product offering.

The support is being awarded in the form of a $1.6 million non-repayable financial contribution through CED's Quebec Economic Development Program.

  • With its 75 species and the many experiences it has on offer, the zoo is one of the most diversified in North America.

  • The funding from CED will enable the zoo to offer new activities to families. Buildings and shelters will be improved, reconfigured or built to optimize the quality of the experience and provide greater up-close viewing.
